We plan to be in the Caymans staying at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resorts from August 1 through August 10, 2012 with our wedding on Saturday, August 4th.
We have done some research on the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort and if you are thinking of staying there or anywhere you should read some reviews on tripadvisor.com.
Keep in mind if you book with the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort...
The Good...
From reviews we have read online service and staff are fantastic, professional, helpful, and obliging.
The not so bad...
The resort is 5 stories tall, if you book an oceanfront room do not book it on the first floor, your glass door opens to the pool and you will most likely find people sitting in front of your room. The food, as with most resorts, is not cheap but we will have plenty of restaurants to choose from.

One kilometer from the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort is Camana Bay, a 500 acre city which includes shops, dining and entertainment. Of the restaurants included there is Abacus, a 4 1/2 star rated restaurant open for lunch and dinner. There is a gourmet delicatessen, Black Trumpet, that also does pastries, cakes and pies and will most likely do our wedding cake. There is _Ortanique which has lunch, dinner, drinks, bar bites, daily specials, and weekly specials. _Ortanique also has a monthly pig roast at the time of the full moon and the full moon for August 2012 is the second day of the month.
Also in Camana Bay is Michaels Genuine Food and Drink, which is open for lunch, dinner, _desserts, has a very nice listing of beer/cocktails and a large wine selection.
